Reese's Pieces in E.T. (1982) While the appearance of Reese's Pieces in E.T. is the first paid candy placement, and possibly the best known promotion of candy within a movie, it wasn't the first sighting of a sweet within a feature film (the Baby Ruth appeared in this popular comedy in 1980). In E.T., a young boy named Elliot discovers an alien while getting pizza for the family. The alien, E.T., quickly flees, but Elliot is able to lure the alien from the forest into his bedroom with Reese's Pieces. |
